Solstice 2018

blackcoffeeanddarknightsI kind of feel like I should do something for the solstice, because I see everyone talking about it, but I'm not really sure what I want to *do*.
Neither of the deities that I work with at this point are particularly big solar guys*, and truthfully, any attempt I make at creating a yearly structure to my practice usually fails pretty dramatically. I've been busy moving and going to school. I haven't had time, before now, to do more than occasionally pray. ~Which works perfectly fine for me; it's been more important for me to keep the Netjer in my daily life than to try and do something Big for them during times I have no energy.
And I no longer have any interest in staying up all night on the solstice. I used to, but at this point, I value my sleep far too much. If I do something, I think I'll focus on keeping it simple; wake up early, greet the rising sun, take stock of everything that's happened this year, possibly do some tarot, and then go back to bed.
*They can be, of course, but so can all the Netjer. It's not really their primary Thing, though.

Date: 2018-12-18 01:00 am (UTC)I wish I had more energy for practices that feel resonant for me, or for that matter, for identifying what those practices would be in the first place. It's kind of hard to have a holiday without other people on board with celebrating it the way you do, isn't it?
